The new £93million Amex stadium, home to Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club won Best New Venue over other shortlisted venues such as Juventus and the National Stadium in Poland, home of the forthcoming European Championships at the 2012 International Stadium Business Awards, held in Turin, Italy in May.

After just one year in operation, the new Amex stadium also made the top 5 shortlist for best customer experience alongside venues such as The Etihad, Manchester City as well as top 5 shortlist for best venue globally.

Nick Brice, MD of 360 Degree Vision, the events and training specialists who spearheaded the transformation of the team responsible for staffing and running the new stadium, offered his congratulations.

It’s great news,” said Brice. “The Amex stadium is an internationally recognized success story already and we’re delighted to be part of it.”

The company helped managers and their teams explore how they were to manage a new customer experience in a new environment using VerbatimPlayback, and engaged and developed all levels of staff for both match and non match day events. Said Rose Read, the stadium’s Head of Human Resources: “360 Degree Vision spearheaded our transformation to an international award nominated venue. Their tools and methods have been a pivotal ingredient in our success. A great partner.”

Martin Perry, CEO and now Executive Director of Brighton and Hove Albion and The Community Stadium Ltd. added: “They worked with us to clarify and communicate our customer experience strategy and are developing our people and their teams to deliver it. They did a great job in helping us achieve a very high level of performance in a very short time.”

We are very excited that the American Express Community Stadium has already been described as ‘excellent’ in so many aspects of the customer experience by the Football League,” said Brice. “Coupled with last night’s award(S), these are incredible achievements by a really focused, enthusiastic and willing group of people at the club and their catering partners Azure. I’m very proud our events, tools and methods helped them focus their efforts and ambitions.”
